Acton Millennium Mural Committtee: Millennium Mural Project (Acton Arena) by Michelle Loughery (Vernon B.C.), Painted Winter, 2000 Acton's unique cultural and recreational hertage is celebrated in this mural depicting the Acton Citizens' Band, skaters on Henderson's Pond and three turn of the century sports figures featured in the forefront. The Acton Citizens' Band, which was formed in 1872, is still active and performing in the community today. Henderson's Pond, as seen in 1898, is fondly remembered for the year-round enjoyment it brought to the families of Acton. The mural also represents the town's pride in its many sporting achievements as depicted by the female softball player from 1923, and the lacrosse and hockey players from the early 1900s. All are proudly wearing the Acton uniforms of the day.
