Painted on the concrete barrier in the parking lot at the South West corner of Eglinton and Brimley Avenues, Scarborough, ON

The dragon theme was chosen by the youth and inspired by the snakelike shape of the concrete barrier. The dragon appealed to the youth as being a mythical creature that is present in many different cultures. The mural incorporates imagination, colour and creativity in dramatically changing the appearance of this drab strip plaza. The mural served as a training ground for the youth to learn new skills in design, colour mixing, shading and texture. On site, they learnt the practical applications of risk management and also dealing with community interaction.

The mural was created by Mural Routes in partnership with Action for Neighbourhood Change and agency of West Hill Community Services.
