Lacombe Town Council appointed the
Communities in Bloom Committee to take charge of the mural program after
the committee successfully had 3 murals painted. All of our downtown
murals must follow a historical theme in keeping with the Edwardian
buildings that fill our downtown. We have completed a 20 exterior wall
theme which portrays Lacombe between 1890 - 1910. We extend
sincere thanks to The Alberta Foundation for the Arts for their
financial contribution. Murals in Progress: We began our second mural theme in 2009 which will cover over 12,000 square feet of walls and 9 buildings. This theme will reflect Lacombe during the 30s and could take up to another five years to complete. Check our website for progress reports! |
