Bugnet![]() Born in France, Georges Bugnet and his wife Julia immigrated to Rich Valley, west of Legal in 1905. He was a writer and a devoted to horticulture. The most popular rose he created is the Thérèse Bugnet Rose, a cross between the Kamchitka rose of Russia and the Alberta rose. After World War II, Georges sold his land and moved to Legal. He was presented with numerous awards including an honorary doctorate from the University of Alberta. He died in 1981 at 101. |
