Carousel is the final mural for the Wyandotte Town Centre mural project and is located on the north wall of 639 Langlois. The exquisite forms of Art Deco inspire this mural.

Art Deco, introduced in France after WW I, dominated the design world leaving its mark on the decades that followed. This international art movement often incorporated modern elements such as the wheel with motifs of Ancient Egypt, Rome, Greece, Africa and the Far East.

Car designers embraced the fluid style of Art Deco, melding aerodynamics with panache, and mechanics with art. These hood ornaments became a marketing tool, identifying the vehicles qualities such as luxury, elegance, speed or strength.

Carousel celebrates Windsor- the automotive birthplace in Canada and one of the most culturally diverse cities in the country. Interspersed throughout the Multicultural Council’s Harmony Ribbon are 13 mascots representing 10 different countries of origin.
